Player sounds come from underneath
Player-made sounds, such as readying a weapon or casting a spell, are played from the player reference's position, which is at the feet. This is most noticeable with HRTF or surround sound output, as looking up will make the sound come from the back and looking down will make it come from the front. This makes sense for something like footsteps, but most other sounds should probably be played local to the listener.
