Description

As you can see in the image, trader has two stocks of Cyrodiilic Brandy. First one, of 5 pcs, is in his crate and is not restocking; the other one is restocking in his own inventory.
In vanilla he has a single stock of 8, and spends its restocking part first (so if you purchase 3 bottles, he will have 8 again; if you buy 4, he will have 7).
Don't know, maybe it's more of a feature than a bug, but without any indication of difference between stocks it looks strange.

if you do 'tfh' which toggles fullhelp, you will notice the (usually) smaller of the two stocks are separated because they are owned by the vendor.

I am not part of the openMW team, but this makes sense to me, it's the game separating things out.

It does look strange, though, you're right there.

This is expected Vanilla behavior

What do you mean by expected Vanilla behavior?
I can confirm what the initial poster said. In original Morrowind that vendor (Banor Seran in Balmora, Council Club) will have a single stack of 8 Cyrodiilic Brandy, while in OpenMW he has a stack of 3 and a stack of 5. I haven't thought this through that much, and it's a minor issue, but my first impression is that the original Morrowind behavior may be preferable, rather than having one stack that respawns and one that doesn't.

I can confirm this too. No idea why this was rejected.

I think this is the same issue as #1933 (which I can see why people forgot about it; it was never assigned a version number and had no visibility).

Sort of. The symptom is the same, different cause (owned crates vs. selling back items). I suppose we should merge them anyway.
