Indoor cells are too dark
Morrowind is gamma-corrected by default but OpenMW v0.32.0 is not, resulting in any indoor cells being too dark. This makes them look unrealistic and very tiring on the eyes, especially when playing during the day (IRL day).
I took screenshots of Balmora's mages guild in various conditions to demonstrate this:
- Vanilla screenshot using in-game facility (seems to disregard gamma correction, looks darker than actual image on the screen)
- Vanilla screenshot using FRAPS, seems to render the image on the screen accurately
- OpenMW screenshot using FRAPS on the same Windows system (Catalyst driver)
- OpenMW screenshot from Linux on the same hardware and open-source r600g driver, to make sure it's not an OS or driver issue
- OpenMW screenshot from Linux on the same hardware and open-source r600g driver with 50pts Night Eye, included for completeness
In addition, I've attached the original morrowind.ini so you can make sure it's at default gamma settings. Shaders were enabled in both OpenMW tests - hlsl on Windows, glsl on Linux. OpenMW Linux config folder is also attached.
